I grew up in Rochester, NY. Many of the recipes and dishes are familiar to me. This cookbook covers all the standard Italian-American fare, plus some fine-dine items. In many ways it is like looking through your Italian grandma's old recipes. The introduction is itself interesting- telling tales of famous visitors and local celebrities. There is one consistent spelling mistake throughout: Rue where it should be Roux. Please consider changing this for the next edition. This cookbook is a good niche addition to a home cook's collection. I very much recommend it.Many great sauce recipesThis is a good cookbook that came out of a great local restaurant. My husband (now passed) had been friends with Nate and had a couple of Nate's recipes..When I heard about this cookbook... I just had to buy it. I suggest you do the same.As a Chef myself, I find many cookbooks are either written by home cooks using convenience foods, or by Celebrity Chefs who's recipes have unnecessary complex flavors, concassé, sauces, chutneys, brining, ect...Buy this cookbook...it has the all the essential recipes that you will need to cook Italian. Nice job.Recipes are easy to follow have made the spaghetti sauce with my daughter who can’t cook and she was thrilled that her kids and husband loved it. Next is chicken FrenchGiven I am a first generation of Italian descent, I was very interested in collecting authentic Italian recipes. While I know each region has different recipes (and hotly contested as to which version is best!) I found myself thinking that these recipes were missing some ingredients...perhaps those that makes his dishes truly his?Very interesting! We were frequent patrons of the Brown Derby and this book has the best of Nate's recipes. We have one and have given them as gifts to our friends who love to cook.I so enjoyed reading a book about,THE BROWN DERBY, one of Rochester's best restaurants. The story was wonderful and the recepies amazing.
